Iris Portugaly: female drummer and vocalist. Ofer Portugaly: pianist, composer and music arranger.

Both Iris and Ofer are graduates of the Berklee College of Music (Boston). Together they lead one of the most remarkable and creative contemporary music ensembles in Israel.

Their style has been characterized as "a breakthrough in original Israeli Ethno-Jazz”. They have issued five albums which have sold thousands throughout Israel and Japan, and they have cooperated with international artists in prestigious festivals around the world, including American jazz giants such as singer Sheila Jordan and jazz vocalist Kevin Mahogany and others.

Their latest album, Endless Story, is released concurrently with a show bearing the same name. This unique mixture of original texts and melodies with well-loved American Jazz standards and Israeli classics, gives voice to both old and new, east and west.

The album features world-wide jazz musicians such as saxophonist Eli Degibri; trombonist Avi Labovitch; oud and guitar player Amos Hoffman; percussionist Zohar Fresco, as well as Ilan Salem on flute.

Iris has further established her status as a popular performer with Israel’s leading jazz and classical orchestras, including the Israel Philharmonic and both she and Ofer often team up with leading local musicians such as:
Singer song-writer Danny Litani; world-renowned tenor, Dudu Fisher; and vocalists , Margalit Tzanani, Momi Levy, Ruthie Navon, Mosh Ben-Ari and Alon Olearchik among others.

Moreover, Iris and Ofer have dedicated themselves to passing the jazz heritage on to younger generations:
Iris heads the vocal department at the
Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, Ramat Ha’Sharon near Tel Aviv and is the head of Music Department at a the “New High School” in Herzliya.

Ofer, in addition to his work as a pianist, composer and arranger, is also the Art and Musical director of various jazz festivals and series such as “The Jam Session” at the annual Red Sea Jazz Festival, which focuses on integrating local and foreign jazz musicians.

He is a senior faculty member at the Rimon School and also leads a Jazz Big Band at the Kiryat-Sharet high school in Holon.

Together, Iris and Ofer lecture and present jazz and gospel music workshops throughout the country
