Workshops, Courses, and Orientation Days
Designed for professional musicians, vocalists, singers, jazz combos, and choirs, the experiential workshops cover a wide range of musical disciplines and styles: Iris as head of the Rimon School Vocal Dept has more than 20 years experience teaching voice technique, improvisation and jazz interpretation. Ofer, musical arranger and a faculty member of the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, organizes classes and special workshops for choirs, jazz combos and big bands.
The Program typically covers:
- Introduction to Jazz and improvisation
- Introduction to Blues
- Blues scales and the use of improvisation
- Familiarization with the characteristics of different rhythmic styles and improvisations in all styles – Swing, Bossa Nova, Funk etc...
- Roles of the various instruments and voice in Jazz And contemporary music
- Work on technique and breathing
- Character of jazz and gospel
- Jazz interpretations – Swing feel... syncopation etc
- Gospel Music – work on singing and preparation of performance...
Program for Orientation Days
Portugaly Productions, the company which arranges all the group’s performances, also run choirs, jazz, voice development, improvisation and gospel workshops specifically for those with no musical background. Such workshops are ideal for orientation and integration days, and for forging "team spirit” for companies and organizations.
We can provide one-off seminars or a series of workshops... Equipment required: CD + DVD player, keyboard and microphones.
